Comprehensive Analysis of Metabolic Isozyme Targets in Cancer

This study provides a foundation for NMG’s selection of ACC.

Isozymes are different proteins that perform the same enzymatic reaction. Researchers analyzed isozyme expression for 1,319 enzymatic reactions across 14 cancer types and their matching normal tissues. Loss of isozyme diversity helped identify potential metabolic dependencies, with ACC1 emerging as a broadly shared candidate supported by functional analyses.

Experiments with PF-05175157 reduced breast cancer cell viability and slowed tumor growth in mouse models. The compound inhibits both ACC1 and ACC2.

What this means for NanomediGene

The work supports the target rationale. NMG’s ACC-inhibitor formulation requires separate evaluation of delivery, efficacy, and safety.

What this establishes

The 14 cancer types describe the analysis scope, not treatment efficacy across all 14. ACC inhibition was evaluated in breast cancer cells and mouse models. These preclinical findings do not establish clinical benefit or NMG formulation performance.
